Good day Regenizers!
We've recently received a question about how to recycle CD's and Tapes. Let's face in today's digital world, majority of us listen to music or watch movies in a digital format or we stream via the internet. Which leaves us in our current situation, where we are sitting with years of old CD's and tapes taking up space. This begs the question, are they recyclable?
According to Earth 911, CD cases are polystyrene (#6 plastic), while the discs themselves are polycarbonate (#7 plastic). The casing of tapes is polypropylene (#5 plastic), and the tape itself is polyethylene terephthalate (#1 plastic).
Therefore, the CD case, tape case and tape would be accepted, while the actual CD disc would not be. So what should you do with the CD's?
Reuse them - We created a post of brilliant items made from old CD's.
Recycle them - CD's are considered E-waste and can be dropped off at an E-waste drop off. Find a drop off closest to you here.
I don't think so, peoples are use CD's & Tapes Nowadays, I watch ‘Farzar’ in France at digital streaming, and what ever I want I get from there.
